Early Life & Education

Born and raised in the scenic hills of Ilam, Nepal, Som Luitel grew up in a family that valued education and community service. He completed his early education at Shree Rudra Primary School and Shree Bhagwati Secondary School, followed by +2 at Bhanubhakta Higher Secondary School. He later earned B.Ed. and BBS degrees from Mangalbare Campus (Mahendra Ratna Campus).

From an early age, Som demonstrated initiative and self-reliance by teaching tuition classes, managing a small shop, and learning practical skills in house wiring, TV, and radio maintenance. He also actively participated in community programs, establishing himself as a responsible and community-focused individual.

The Professional Journey

2008-Present

Building a Foundation

The professional journey of Som Luitel began at New Generation Computer Center in Mangalbare, Ilam. During this period, he conducted numerous computer classes, providing hands-on training to students while also offering computer repair and maintenance services. As the proprietor, he managed overall operations, training programs, and technical services, laying a strong foundation for his future professional success.

2011-2013

Beginning in Insurance

Som Luitel began his career as a agent at Nepal Life Insurance Company. Within two years, he became one of the top 25 agents in the country. Since then, except for his first year, he has been consistently recognized among Nepal Life’s top agents, receiving national awards for his outstanding performance.

2014-Present

Commerce Leadership & Social Impact

Since 2071 BS, he has been elected as a member of the Ilam Industry and Commerce Association, Manglavare Branch, later serving as Secretary, and is currently holding the position of General Secretary. Som Luitel has made remarkable contributions to social responsibility, providing financial and material support to communities affected by landslides, the COVID-19 pandemic, and fire incidents. He has also organized various social camps, demonstrating a strong commitment to community service.

2014 - 2018

Building a Legacy

Promoted to Agency Manager, where he built and mentored a team of over 50 agents. His innovative training programs and motivational techniques became a benchmark in the industry, earning him multiple "Best Manager" awards.

2018 - 2019

Global Recognition & Excellence

Som Luitel achieved the prestigious MDRT (Million Dollar Round Table) qualification, recognizing his exceptional sales performance, client satisfaction, and professional excellence. MDRT is considered one of the most respected awards in the global insurance and financial industry.

2019-2020

Senior Agency Manager

Som Luitel achieved 4th position nationwide among agents while generating over NPR 12 crore in business as a Senior Agency Manager. His inspiring leadership and strategic guidance have helped his team consistently deliver outstanding performance.

2021-2023

National Honors & Achievements

I am extremely honored and delighted to have been recognized as one of the nation’s top agents for 11 consecutive years since the fiscal year 2071/72 under the annual national awards presented by Nepal Life Insurance Company Ltd. Last year, I received the “Samriddhi Medal,” and I am proud to have been consecutively awarded the Leadership Excellence Award (Ratna Medal) in 2023, 2024, and 2025.

2024 - Present

Leadership & Expertise

He is currently serving as a Senior Agency Manager at one of Nepal’s leading financial institutions, providing services in insurance, wealth management, and retirement planning. He also serves as the Assistant Secretary of the Professional Insurance Agents Association Nepal (Beemak Samiti, Nepal Life), where he plays a leadership role by conducting training and motivational programs across the country.
